MG1 Multifile Tool

The MG1 Multifile Tool combines several complete tuning files of the same software version into one file with switchable maps. You upload the original file and up to seven further files, for example Stage 1, Stage 2, an economy map or a Pop and Bang map. The tool extracts the differences, stores them as separate maps in free areas of the flash memory and adds the switching logic.

Switching is done in the car with the cruise control lever or a pedal sequence. The active map is shown on the rev counter when the ignition is switched on, and the selection can be stored in the EEPROM so it survives a restart. Optional protections such as a seat belt condition are available.

Supported are Bosch MG1 and MED17 control units in VAG and Mercedes vehicles. The checksum of the resulting file is corrected automatically, and the file is locked to the vehicle identification number.
