Multifile Tool: what the tool does

What you can do

  • Upload your original file and up to seven tuned versions, up to eight complete files in one ECU
  • Slot 1 is the original, the base and the fallback; every file is checked against it
  • Name every map, the notes end up in the README
  • Guided setup: VIN, switch, timing, conditions, auto-close and EEPROM storage
  • Download as ZIP with README, or the file without checksum
  • Files from the Instant Tool can be handed over automatically

How to switch in the car

  • Cruise control: hold SET to open the menu, plus and minus select the map, the rev counter shows the active map
  • Or brake and throttle, as chosen in the guided setup
  • The menu closes on its own after the time you set

What you need

  • Full read of a supported MG1 or MED17 file, no immo-off
  • All files must come from the same software version
Description

MG1/MED17 MultiFile Tool

The MG1/MED17 MultiFile Tool combines several complete tuning files of the same software version into one file with switchable maps. You upload the original file and up to seven further files, for example Stage 1, Stage 2, an economy map or a Pop and Bang map. The tool extracts the differences, stores them as separate maps in free areas of the flash memory and adds the switching logic.

Switching is done in the car with the cruise control lever or a pedal sequence. The active map is shown on the rev counter when the ignition is switched on, and the selection can be stored in the EEPROM so it survives a restart. Optional protections such as a seat belt condition are available.

Supported are Bosch MG1 and MED17 control units in VAG and Mercedes vehicles. The checksum of the resulting file is corrected automatically, and the file is locked to the vehicle identification number.
